ART 2022-2023
This painting was created on top of another painting. It started with a process of covering what was there before with white, which happened in patches, letting some of the "past" stay. Then the artists deepened the browns (lots of burned umber mixed with blues). After that the golden hand was introduced. The hand was a part of an older installation piece that the artist decided to reintroduce into this new piece. The hand was cut in two and rearranged allowing for a gap and then pasted onto the canvas. The idea was nailed, and then the subtle process of defining the elements of the positive and negative spaces began. The painting was born.
