Playing music changes both the universe and the player. This is a large and narrow mixed technique (acrylic, collage, oil) painting on paper. The whole series (6 pieces so far) is made out of large and small paintings/collages that are inspired by video footage of Bob Dylan performing “Hey Mr. Tambourine Man” during the 1964 Rockport Folk Music Festival. Here the figurative and the abstract create a unified continuum, similar to the way that music changes our state of mind and introduces rhythm and melody into our landscapes.
